Losing color/shading on new tattoo?

I recently got a tattoo on the inside of my ankle (sort of just to the side and under the ankle bone- party touching my foot). Sadly, Most of my shading and even part of the bottom of the outline didn't stick. I ned to go back for some MAJOR touch ups. So disappointed. It looked awesome when it was first finished. I followed the directions for after care so I'm confused why this happened. Is it the area? ANy ideas or experience with this?

I would complain to the artist / shop owner. Show them pics of before and show them now. Most likely he only scratched the surface and didn't saturate deep enough.

Losing color/shading on new tattoo?

i have a tattoo in a similar spot.
i've already had it redone once.
when i got it redone, the artist that touched it up said that when i got the tattoo, the original artist should have put it up slightly higher, because in the spot where it is, it will constantly rub against shoes and that is a tender spot, and it will always have to be touched up.
it has already begun fading again.
wish i knew when i got it done!

Ugh. This is what I'm afraid of.

Losing color/shading on new tattoo?

I have both of the inside of my ankles done and when I went the artist put it up higher than I originally wanted because he said I would always need touch ups. They should touch it up for free or at least a VERY small price.

Yes, they did say they'd touch it up for free.

Exactly this. I have anchors in that area and the artist refused placement where I originally wanted it. He flat out told me that he wouldn't do it because I would be back complaining. Chat Icon Chat Icon
