9 mo old w/constipation
My 9 Mo old DD is constipated and refuses to eat prunes or prune juice. I have been giving her plenty of water but this hasn't helped.
Any suggestions on what I could give her to help?

How long has she not gone?
My pediatrician said they can go 4 days without pooping.
Have you tried the rectal thermometer?

she has gone everyday but its like marbles (tmi). I have tried rectal thermometer but her poop is so hard!

pear juice
rectal with Vaseline in and out
massage her stomach and bring her knees to her stomach a few times like squats while she's laying down

OMG mine has the same issue except she loves prunes and Prune juice. That wasn't helping. I Gave her pear. Worked!!

Pears work, too. When we don't have prunes, I give DD pear puree.

She's eating some table foods. I got pears in natural pear juice. Since they're jarred/canned they are nice and soft. I could have baked my own until soft, but this was faster to be honest. You could also do pear puree.

raisins!!! they work wonders. and tmi- they will come out whole in the bm, lol. Yes pear juice is good, gerber makes it. Try feeding pears and berries...not sure if shes on whole foods yet. Also lots of milk and dairy bind them up. My 16m gets constipated a lot so I am very careful with what I feed her. You can also give her a suppository and she should poop within an hour. It will get everything out. Good luck!

I blend prunes with apples so it isn't straight up prune. Also as much fruit as you can get in her (not banana).

Applee binds them though so thats strange. But if it works. I had to give my dd a suppository. She went 3 days no poop peds recommended it as she was not taking the prune or prune juice.

Awww.. my poor future daughter in law. :(
definitely try massaging her tummy with warm hands in clockwise circles.
Cj will eat the prunes with apples? maybe that since its got another flavor? then again, he will eat almost anything
or mix some prunes into something else she likes?
