Dees Nursery vs Hicks for Santa?

Been going to Hicks for a few years and their decorations, etc. are beautiful. Their santa on the other hand.......? Not so much. Just wondering if anyone has been to Dees. Are they decorated nicely for Christmas? How is the Santa there? Thanks.

Dees looks great, lots of decor. I liked the Santa. $10 for a 5x7 but we snuck our own pic.

I haven't gone to Dee's but know A LOT of people that have and are really happy. IMO the Santa at Hicks is TERRIBLE, bordering on scary. He's a super nice guy but doesn't compare.

Dees Nursery vs Hicks for Santa?

The Santa at Hicks is frightening. He also seems like he never held a baby before b/c he has them all in this weird crotch-hold when taking pics.

I don't know anything about Dee's but I would go anywhere but Hicks.

Re: Dees Nursery vs Hicks for Santa?

Thanks for your responses! We've taken my granddaughter to HIcks for 3 Christmases and now she is a little over 3 and I honestly think she'd be scared of the santa at Hicks. They really do need to find someone more suitable. Just looking back at the pictures from previous years we think.....why? why didn't we find somewhere else? We like to take our own pics and usually at Hicks we always found a nice place to take a pic and it was used on the Christmas card. I think we'll try for Dees this year, the Santa can't be worse!

Re: Dees Nursery vs Hicks for Santa?

I guess I'm an odd one - we went to Hicks today and I found the Santa (yes, same one posted in a pic on this thread) to be very kind and he was great with my DD. They had a lovely conversation:

Santa: What do you want for Christmas? A doll?
DD: no
Santa: a scooter?
DD: no
Santa: a dollhouse?
DD: no
Santa: an easel?
DD: no
Santa: Well, what DO you want?
DD: I want a snack

I don't think the Hicks Santa is scary looking at all! He's just not a very believable looking Santa - but scary, no! He's also very, very nice and sweet and gentle with the kids.

That is adorable! You need to write that in her baby book!

we might go back to Dees for Santa. We went for the Easter Bunny and you can take your own pics or buy theirs for $10. Honestly it's just some young girls taking pics on a regular digital camera for $10. I probably took better pics on my phone so I opted out of buying theirs. Anyhow $10 is much cheaper than going to see Santa at any mall.

Their pictures actually come out very good. We ways take our own and buy 1. The dees are our neighbors and know us so we feel funny not buying 1 but the picture is always very good quality.
