Video Game/Tablet for a Toddler HELP
My little guy (who is almost 20 months) LOVES his big brothers DS. I've given him the leappad but he doesn't really get it.
We don't have a tablet, and he does understand the swipe move on my hubby's iphone..
so can anybody think of something that I could get from Santa like this?
Like I said, Leappad is too advanced. He isn't even 2 yet.
Thanks!

Re: Video Game/Tablet for a Toddler HELP
I always recommend the kindle fire. (which I hear will be $80 or something on black friday)
Anyway, DS2's birthday is in april. so last december he was 20 months we got my DH a kindle fire. It VERY quickly became DSs. He loves it and can do 99% of the things he needs to with no assistance. He has plenty of games that are educational (he is a fanatic about letters so we have a ton of letter games including tracing letters) and he loves them all. We put movies on there so he can watch movies, has helped when out to dinner and the service is too slow! LOL
Best of all, DS is a tantrum thrower, he has broken his brother's ipod touch in such a tantrum. I cannot count how many times he has thrown the kindle including on to concrete. times i was sure it was going to be shattered, and after a year, it barely has a scratch on it, and we do not have a protective case on it, just a "book" type one to close it over.

Re: Video Game/Tablet for a Toddler HELP
see, I kinda don't want to spend extremely seriously money on this. I don't even need downloads...I may check out the leadfrog area at Toys R Us.
The IPod touch would be far too fragile and the kindle fire....I don't even have a tablet...LOL

Walmart has a lot of Android tablets for under $100. If you get one of those, DS can play with it, but so can you. There are tons of free apps for you, youngest DS, and older DS. You can find apps designed for under 2. There are painting apps where you touch the screen, and it reacts (either a free-hand drawing type program, or a random light pattern type program).
