Flu shot for baby?
My dd is 6 months old and goes to daycare full time. Our ped recommended the flu shot for her. How necessary is it?

you will get very different answers to this. IMO, necessary if she is in daycare full time. my dd had the flu last year and it was not fun. at all. it was heartwrenching. complications from the flu in infants can be very serious.

The flu in an infant is no joke.
If she goes to daycare, then yes, absolutey I woudl get it.
I got it for DD as soon as she coudl have it- 6 months.
She still gets it every year- she is in daycare full time.
I don't get it for myself- never have- never had flu. But I worry about babies and little ones more.

Both my boys got it when they were around 6 months and both were in daycare. We get it every year too.
DH and myself get it as well.

I give it to my DS because he is in daycare. Last winter he got a few colds but never anything more.

Definitely give it to your DS if he's in daycare. I gave DS 2 his first shot at 6 months last year and will be giving both boys their flu shots once the peds office gets them in.

ds got it as soon as he could as well, and for a long seasons, sometimes they will give 2. My ds is in daycare adn i work in teh medical field. Ill get it as well. My dh got it last year as well, and my ss will get it this year.. too much risk, nad we were already so sick last year, that i am not risking one more thing..
