If you delivered at Southside Hospital please come in
Asking for a friend- she is trying to make a decision regarding her delivery. She doesn't know much about Southside. If you delivered there, can you please share your experience, good or bad? TIA!

I loved it!!!
The labor and delivery nurses were great.
The maternity nurses were great. They were so nice, accomdating, really made you feel cared for and comfortable.
I paid for a private room and it was worth every.single.penny.
I have not one bad thing to say about my experience there.
Highly recommend

I paid for a private room and it was worth every.single.penny.
I have not one bad thing to say about my experience there.

Same here, except for the private room. I wound up not getting a roommate so it worked out. But my experience with Southside was wonderful from start to finish.

Same. Actually I was there 3 nights, and had a roommate for only 1 night but it wasn't a big deal at all. I had a very positive experience all around!

I would say it was "eh". Overall not bad, but at one point, the nurse assigned to me was the LC and teaching a BF class and I got ignored. I needed help with BF and they told me to wait bc she would be with me later, she never actually came in my room once, I wasn't checked on at all, and never got help bc she was teaching a class to people that didnt have babies yet, while my newborn was having so much trouble latching.
Another time I asked for pain meds - had horrible tearing - and I never got them, I had to call again about an hour later to ask again.
They told me there was nothing for me to eat after I got moved up to Maternity after having my baby. I just freakin' birthed a giant baby and they couldn't find me anything to eat?! Especially when I was having low blood sugar/low BP/ fainting issues.
I switched OBs.

I just delivered there last Friday and my experience was ok! The nurses were great but the nurse asst. weren't! We pd for a private room. It was def very private and I never saw any other babies or moms. I delivered at good Sam 4.5 years ago and I think that experience was better.

I delivered there in August 2010 and had a great experience!! My nurses were great and the staff was super friendly. I had my own room and it was great for all our visitors. I really liked that breakfast and lunch were buffets so I was able to get out of my room and walk :) we moved after having our son to the north shore and I didn't change drs because I love them and I really enjoyed my experience at Southside
