do you hear HB at first sono or just see it?
I had my 1st sono this week and they said everything looks good. The tech showed me the heartbeat on the monitor but she didnt let me listen and I get so scared during sonos I didnt ask about it. Is 8 weeks to early to hear the HB? I am BTDT but I dont remember this part! Thank you girls.

Don't worry, I didn't hear mine at 8 weeks either! I *think* the tech just wasn't very nice and didn't turn the sound up. She barely even let us see anything, it was a big let down for such an exciting moment. All we got was a quick glance at the screen for about 3 seconds before she turned it back to her. There were no issues with anything, we went on to have a healthy baby girl.
I wouldn't worry unless the doctor said something looked off.

Didn't hear it until our NT scan. I had two before that, at 6 weeks and 9 weeks and we didn't hear it just saw it at both.

At my first few sonos I only saw it. I think you can hear it, but if you don't ask they don't always go out of their way to "play" it for you. At my office they have to flip a switch for the sound. They only let me hear it when I asked. I think every place is different. Don't worry!

I saw it at 6 weeks and 8 weeks. (the sono machine in the exam rooms in my office are not as good as the ones they use for bigger sono's) I Heard it at 12 weeks on the sono, and then on the Doppler at 15 weeks and every appointment since.

Didn't hear it at first sono at 7w1d but saw it. Tech said we wouldn't be able to hear it yet.
Heard it loud and clear at 12w5d at my NT scan. AMAZING sound!
Went back for an appt. 2 days later and the NP said she'd try the doppler to see if we can hear it yet but she didn't think we would be able to b/c the doppler isn't as strong as a sono but after 2 mins of searching, we heard it along with my heartbeat!

Saw and heard heartbeat at 6 1/2 weeks with all 3 of my kids. I guess it depends on the doctor and if the machine can pick it up that early.
