Home insurance - South Shore
Does anyone recommend / know of any companies currently issuing new policies for homes in Nassau on the South Shore? We are in the process of buying a house and are having a tough time finding insurance!!!

Home insurance - South Shore
Just wanted to share that our homeowner's insurance co just dropped us for a totally bogus reason (supposedly "worn shingles and siding"). We are in Long Beach, so it seems like they are looking for any reason to drop ppl.

Try Narraganset Bay. They have an office in East Hampton. I live on the South Shore and was dropped by State Farm. I now have the same coverage with Narraganset that I had with State Farm but for a much lower premium. Good luck!

Home insurance - South Shore
We live in SS Nassu (not in flood zone) and have Liberty Mutual. Haven't tried getting a policy since 2009 but at that time SF also wouldn't insure us. Good luck!

We are also in the process of buying a house on the south shore not in a flood zone. We used a broker, who tried the company we have car insurance from and they quoted us $2300 for a 1600 sq ft house! We asked her to shop it around ans got it down to $1500. I don't have the paperwork on me for who the lower quote was with but try a broker! Takes the legwork out of it!
Checked my email - the lowest policy we were able to find was with Narragansett Bay.

We have HO Ins with State Farm - the agent is in the Southhampton office. We are in a flood zone in SS Nassau. We did get a letter from them with renewal info so I dont think they plan to drop us (*knock on wood*),

We have Allstate but I know that State Farm, Amica (crazy expensive), Mercury, and some others I can't remember also cover our area b/c I got quotes from all of them. We are not in a flood zone.

I have carriers that write on the South Shore, on the water. Feel free to message me if you would like a quote. I work for Bradley & Parker in Melville NY. We are a brokerage and deal with a lot of different carriers.
