ADT - other security systems?
Anyone love their security company? We had ADT over for an assessment this past weekend and, even with the Memorial Day Sale prices, the cost seemed exorbitant - upward of $700 for equipment / installation. That was the sale / discounted price!! We have a small cape. The price per month we were quoted was $44.
Anyone have any suggestions?

we have slomins. I want to say the installation was free. I don't remember paying anything for that. It's $96 every 3 months for the monitoring.
It also came with a inside camera. We can log on at anytime and look at one specific room. We have it in where are our dogs hang out to check on them.
There were also different packages we could have upgraded to but we got the very basic. We have been very happy with them.

just keep in mind... w/ slomins you have to sign a 5 year contract. I am in my 2nd year and the monitoring fee went up a bit, so i am not sure if they raise it each year.

My parents just got Vivint. They like it. You can monitor the cameras online and thru the phone or ipad..and they also offer a feature where you can unlock and lock your door through your phone.
The plus is they only require a 1 year contract commitment. Monthly is arohmd $49.99 for basic service. They usually come to install the system the very same day you sign up. FM me if you want the salesmans number, he waived the installation fee for my parents and said he offers discounts through referrals.

this. installation is free and it's around $30 a month and yes they include an inside camera

Slomin's so far so good...don't remember the fees but we pay about $100 every 3 months.

I had a horrible experience with slomins. Their customer service was just as horrible as their technicians.

I have protection one. We pay $47.00 per month, when we bought the house the system was already instead so I'm not sure what the upfront fee was.

DO NOT go with ADT. My husband and I are currently in a huge dispute with them that is resulting in us filing a claim with the Attorney General's office. Their local sales rep admittedly screwed up the whole job and between my husband and I, we have spent at least 20 hours on the phone with their district managers and their "presidential team" to no avail. They acknowledge their mistake but are barely willing to give us any compensation for it. We are building a new home and wanted a completely wireless system. Their local sales rep screwed up the whole thing and even though we called them three times before the walls were sealed by our contractor, they never sent a team out to do the installation. Now we have no choice but to go with a wireless system which is NOT what we contracted for and they're insisting on still charging us an installation fee. It's beyond infuriating dealing with them. We already put in a claim with our credit card to dispute the charge and now we're going with Slomins. Just go onto their FB page....you'll see a ton of complaints. They are the worst.

We have ADT. The company has VERY fast response times (I've accidentally tripped the alarm a couple of times... ) to incidents. To me, this is the most important part of an alarm system: knowing that it works and that help will be there in the blink of an eye if we need it.
We have had some trouble with customer service, but they actually wound up giving me a huge discount because of it, so it's not all terrible.
