How clean or unclean is your car?
I'm in the market for a new car. DH thinks I may destroy the new car.
How long did your new car stay clean?
DH keeps an immaculate car. He does not let the kids eat in his car. He also cleans his car often (at least once a week) and takes the boys through car washes. DH keeps NOTHING in his trunk so we never have extra diapers, water, etc. if we ride his car.
On the other hand, my car is always a mess. I have crumbs galore. I never get a car wash. I always keep a stroller, water, diaper, wipes, toys, books, etc. in my trunk. The back seat is full of stickers, miscellaneous items for party favors, etc. I probably clean out my car once a month.

I'm like you. My car is full of toys, baby gear and basic necessities (wipes, tissues, bags of extra clothing). I even have a toilet seat in the trunk! I take trash, empty cups and stuff out of the car daily but it is always a mess. My husband has a commuter car which DS never enters, there isn't even a baby seat in it. I am constantly carting DS around am we are in and out of the car at least 2-3 times a day!
This gets me thinking, we really need a car wash!

How clean or unclean is your car?
We bought a new car in July and had DS in December. Our car is not dirty there is just always things in the car. Extra clothes, blanket, toys.
No food spills or anythign like that but we really only let him have water in the car and goldfish.

I keep a clean car. I can't tolerate mess or things not being organized - I am way to OCD about things. DH hates it.
I TRY and not let DS eat anything in the car, unless we are on a long road trip. I then get in the back with him and hand him small pieces of whatever, and wipe his hands constantly. 
I keep two big fabric bins in the trunk. Inside I keep cleaning wipes for the car, extra diapers for DS, and an umbrella. I also put my shopping bags in there when I go to the store, keeps everything from rolling around.
I bring it to the car wash every 2 weeks.
I don't keep anything that shouldn't be in it. No toys, or garbage, or clothes...the only thing that stays is a fabric bin I keep DS's DVD's in. I keep that on the floor in front of his seat.

I keep a clean car. It bugs me to no end when DH takes it and treats it like his!! DH's car is a mess, it really does look like he lives in it sometimes. Always empty Snapple bottles, shoes, ties, sport jackets, etc. strewn all over. Various crap in the back.
On the other hand, my car is clean! I keep a stroller in the back and always have a diaper bag with me for the baby. My older kids do sometimes eat in the car, but it really depends on what I will let them have!

I have a Matrix with a hatch. in there is our small umbrella stroller. the back is always full of crumbs which i try to vacuum up once a week. I have a lttle waste basket tucked back there for wrappers & such;
xtra wipes;
DH's car he only takes to and from the train station. his trunk is empty. we have a car seat in that car too, but nothing else xtra for DS.

My car has always been a hot mess! I recently did a full clean, probably about a month ago, and I've been making a real effort to keep it up.

My car is a mess - probably enough toys in there to have a garage sale!
I actually had a rental car last week and had such envy! That sucker was spotless! I said the next nice weekend I am cleaning my car out and severely limiting what comes in!

my car is the same way but we still lease a new car for me - we looked for a slightly used car but it worked out better to get a new car but mine is a mess - my plan is just to buy a deal through groupon that I can use for detailing close to inspection date

my car is a HOT MESS! the back seat is like toys R us...I organized my trunk but no matter how many times i clean the back seat it's toys everywhere within a few days. Then my husband comes home from work FILTHY , no matter how many times i nag him to stop he leaves his newspapers and drinks in the passenger side. makes me bonkers. I'm alot like you...party favors, gifts, all end up in the back seat until I clean it out

My car is fairly new and it is pretty neat and clean a few random Cheerios here and ther but otherwise good. Hope to keep it that way. The outside needs a good wash though.

My car is clean, but my trunk is cluttered. It has a stroller and change of clothing, bottles of water, etc. I can still get groceries into my car. There are crumbs in the car, but I get a car wash every two months to clean them out.

I take the prize ... ds threw up in my car on monday ...?we took carseat out to clean it, but hes been sick since and I have no one to leave him with to get it cleaned. its going to be a lukcy carwash that gets my car on saturday ... nothing like fermented throw up

My truck is a mess. My husband's is clean.
He cleans his once a week because he cares....I clean mine like every 4 months because I don't care. The outside gets washed maybe 4 times a year.
If I had a new truck, I'd keep it clean. But my truck is 10 years old, and the mess just adds character.

my car is a mess and i hear crap about it all the time from DH and my parents.
I let DD eat and drink in the car i have milk stains from her dropping throughing her cup, ill clean it but its there again with in days, cumbs everywhere and just crap.
i never take my car to a car wash i hate doing it so if its gong to get done i try to get DH to do it.
Its on my list to clean the whole car and try to keep it that way.

My trunk is filled with double strollers and such. It drives me crazy.
But...when 2 YO DS threw up on himself randomly at the park this weekend, I had :
- new diaper
- change of clothes
-costco size package of wipes
-plastic bag to put soiled clothes in
- new bottle of water to give son to drink
I was pretty damn proud of my messy trunk at that moment
The front ranges in the messiness. Sometimes I say the backseat has enough goldfish back there to start an aquarium. :)
Ideally, I would like to get it cleaned month.
Before kids I was at the car wash every week. When I sold my car @ 7 years old, it still looked brand new. LOL

Your situation sounds almost identical to ours. We don't even have 2 car seats in DH's car becuase then you have to have your knees on the dashboard. We just have the base for the infant seat in there and I use it on occasion if I go out alone with the baby. DH actually cleans my car becuase it drives him nuts. So it is clean fairly often but only because he's so neurotic about messes. His trunk has one item in it and that's the towel he sits on on the way home from the gym.

We have been to the beach numerous times this past month. There is sand everywhere....from the toys to DS taking off his shoes while in the car seat. I have snacks, changes of clothes, wipes, umbrellas, folding chairs, books. Yeah, it is a hot mess
