ID at airport for 8 month old
Some people posted that i nees either a birth cert or ss card.
What do i need? If its birth cert can i use a copy or does it have to be original?
If its ss card then can i use copy?

Re: ID at airport for 8 month old
We always carry a copy of my son's birth certificate. We have been asked for it about 60% of the time.

We've only flown to Florida once, but we were not asked for anything for DS who was 10 months at the time.

If you are traveling within US you really don't need anything. You might have a copy of birth certificate just in case, but it's not required. If you travel outside of US you need passport.

You are supposed to bring a copy of the birth certificate for a lap child - they don't usually check for kids that young (moreso ones that are close to two to make sure you aren't cheating the system).
If your dc has a seat, they don't need id until they are 18.

We traveled go FL on jet blue (JFK to MCO & back) with 7 month old DD & didn't need a birth cert or SS card. We didn't need anything for her other than the "lap infant" ticket they provided her with

I flew American and they specifically told me on the phone that I didn't need to bring anything. Try calling your airline to see what their policy is.

Us too and have always been asked for it.
I would bring a copy--it's very easy to have available in your purse, not worth being denied getting on the flight for.

Same here. We have flown with DS to Florida twice now and we haven't been asked for any kind of identification.

I just got off of the phone with American to add her and I asked what I needed for her and I was told nothing.

When we went with our kids to Disney one if my daughters was 9 months. We flew Southwest and had to show her birth certificate. I think it depends on the airline.
