cell phone companies..smart phone
are there any companies out there for smartphones that are less then $85 a month. If I upgrade to a smart phone through my verizon plan it is an extra $30 for the data and than comes to about $85 a month

I had Verizon and just switched to Virgin Mobile last month after hearing the same line about the extra $$ for data. Ridiculous!
Monthly plan with 300 mins, unlimited texting and data only cost me $35. Just $5 more than what Verizon quoted for data. 300 mins was adequate for me. It's $45/mo if you want 1200 mins, unlimited data and text.
The phone selections are good too, I paid $200 for the HTC Evo 3D. VM also offers the Samsung Galaxy...
If you end up getting VM, FM me and I'll give you more info. I've looked at Straight Talk, Boost and others before going with VM.

How is the service with the other companies? My friend dropped TMobile because she had a hard time getting service in a lot of area's. I can get service on the LIRR in Penn Station with Verizon. Couldn't get that with AT &T a couple of years ago. Things may have changed though

I have virgin mobile, have it for 2 years now. I pay $25 for 300 minutes and unlimited text and data. I had At&t before and had the worst service ever and paid 3 times more.
