BTDT- How did you survive the last 6 weeks?

I feel so uncomfortable and large and in pain at this point. I am starting to have all of the normal TMI problems and I just can't be comfortable in any position whatsoever, whether I am standing, sitting, in bed, on the couch... I just feel drained and tired and stressed and nervous... and I just want these 6 weeks to go by quick, yet it feels soooo far away.

How did you survive it? What did you do to make the last month and a half more bearable?

LOL just sat on the couch as much as I could! Tried to distract myself. Online shopping.

No idea what I'll do this time, chasing a toddler while waiting for #2. But my brother just booked a trip to come visit 4 weeks before my due date so hopefully he'll help. It doesn't get any easier once the baby is here, though, I'm afraid -- it's just a much happier, more purposeful sleeplessness and anxiety. For a year or so. Chat Icon

The only thing that got me through was knowing that it was getting to the end.

BTDT- How did you survive the last 6 weeks?

I would love to know... I am one week from my due date and MISERABLE. I had a pretty easy pregnancy up until the last couple of weeks and now I am so, so uncomfortable. I think I may make this my last week of work just because between not sleeping and sitting being the worst (I have a desk job) I can't imagine another week of it... Of course at my appointment Tuesday my doctor said she had a feeling I would go sooner than later but I wish she hadn't said anything - such a tease!!

I worked and that helped a lot. My 350+ HS students took a lot of time and energy; I didn't have time to dwell on how I felt!

Re: BTDT- How did you survive the last 6 weeks?

Last time, DD was 3 weeks early, so that definitely helped!

This time, I have just about 8 weeks to go. My 5 year old DD is keeping me busy, so that helps. She starts camp in 10 days (which goes for 4 weeks) so I can't wait to plop my butt on the couch for 3.5 hours per day!

it does get uncomfortable. I moved around as much as possible. I found if I sat down it became worse.

Re: BTDT- How did you survive the last 6 weeks?

I was very uncomfortable with my first pregnancy. I feel so much better this time around. I still have some discomfort, but overall, I feel pretty good. I think having a 3.5 year old keeps me active. Just take it day by day. Chat Icon

i know what you mean, i am not looking forward to the very end. I've heard the last few weeks can be brutal. Are you working or taking time off for work before the baby comes? I wish I could use sick days (I have enough to last me until baby comes) but then my job will count it towards my disability which I don't want, so I'm stuck working until the end. Chat Icon

Its definitely getting tougher. Sitting on my couch is soooooo uncomfortable, I can only sit at my dining room table or lay sideways or sit on my glider, and I hate going to the bathroom in my house bc for some reason the toilet bowl is lower than the one at my job lolllllll. BUT between my son, my house and my job I don't honestly have time to think about it that much, and the fact that there are only a few more weeks left makes me jump for joy. I've also been getting these irrational thoughts that when I think about it, I am actually getting kind of sad that I will never be pregnant again. And then I sit on my couch and these thoughts all go away Chat Icon

Distraction! With DS I did alot of nesting- baking, cleaning, etc. this time our house is under construction and we have nothing ready! I physically can't do much but still keep myself busy w cleaning, organizing, work and my 2yo.

Re: BTDT- How did you survive the last 6 weeks?

It actually got easier for me as time went on. I remember being 32 weeks thinking I was never going to make it. Now I'm 37 weeks and my c/s is in 2 weeks from today. Once I hit 36 weeks and realized if I had the baby now, it wouldn't be so bad, thats when it went fast. I did a lot with DS, taking him to the beach, playdates, shopping, lunch, etc. The days went so much faster. Even when we didnt go anywhere, he played outside or something. If you're feeling up to it, organize whatever you can, clean out things while youre home and have no distractions, shop online or make dinners you can freeze for after the baby.

I worked an active job so I was on my feet most of the time . I guess I got used to it . As far as sleeping that flew out the window lol.
