BTDT maxi pads

I wanted to be prepared or when I come home and wanted some advice. Do I get those really long thick pads or just super thin ones"? I got those U ones from Kotex but I don't know if that's not good enough.

TIA

Re: BTDT maxi pads

I used Always Overnight Thins with wings but still ended up changing them nonstop (i had a csection). I did use the thicker ones overnight but had to change them a few times per night anyway.

Re: BTDT maxi pads

I had the biggest, thickest, longest overnight ones with wings you could find for the first two weeks or so. After that, I was able to change to the infinity ultra-thin ones.

I had a vbirth. But it sounds like from many other threads that it varies a lot from woman to woman. I bled almost 6 straight weeks and at one point it got lighter then heavier again during that time. Some women don't bleed for as long.

I definitely recommend ones with wings. I appreciated tampons so much after not being able to use them for the longest, heaviest bleed of my life (sorry if that's TMI).

To me, it depends on what type of birth you have. With my first I had a vaginal birth and had bought the ultra thin ones with wings that I always used. But I liked the thick ones from the hospital better and sent my DH out to get really thick ones when we got home. The reason being with the episiotomy it felt much better to have something cushiony right there and kept the medicine in place better. I had a great recovery from the episiotomy and think thenthick pads made a big difference.
With my second I had a c section and used the ultra thin with wings because I didnt need the extra cushioning and just think the thin ones are more comfy. I would buy the thins, trybthe hospital ones if you have an episiotomy or tear and then send your DH out if you need to:)

Re: BTDT maxi pads

I am currently using the pads from the hospital. Not bc of a heavy flow but bc it's very cushioned. I tried wearing the always infininty and it irritated my stitches.

Re: BTDT maxi pads

My 1st was a vaginal delivery and i needed huge pads for the 1st 2 weeks. I took a few packs home from the hospital then sent me mom to get more. I had the thin overnights at home but they were not enough.

My 2nd was a c/s. I used the big pads for a few days then was able to use thin overnights.

I used the hospital ones while I was in the hospital. When I came home I wore stayfree thin ones, I just changed them really often. I hate the feeling of thick pads.

I had a vaginal birth and used the infinity ultra thin overnights the first week or two then switched to the day infinity ultra thin (Always makes them). They were always more than fine for me but I wasn't a super heavy bleeder. The first day or two was pretty heavy but then it was more like a normal period. I think I may have even had bad periods be heavier than my pp bleeding.

I love ultra thin.....

but in the hospital I switched from the hospital one with icepack in it, to the thick overnight ones, then at home switched back to ultrathin after first few days.

Re: BTDT maxi pads

I used the big thick ones and I a really glad I did. Thin pads wouldn't have worked for my amountof bleeding. I used the thick ones for about a week and used the thin pads with wings after that.
