Was anyone aware that today is Primary Day in NY?
I can honestly say I had no clue until I picked up my DDs from school this afternoon.
I am not eligible to vote as I'm not a registered Republican; however I have to say that I'm disgusted that on page 3 of the Daily News I'm treated to a half-page spread of Nicole Scherzinger (who??? and why???) and I had to hunt all the way to page 14 to find a tiny, buried article about voting today.
What a sad commentary on the media. One would think they don't want an informed citizenry. Hmmm....

I realized it when I dropped DS at preschool. Then I went and voted.  Republicans don't bother advertising in NY because NY always votes Democratic. Although my parents got two phone calls today, one from Mitt and one from Ann Romney. And neither of them are registered Republicans.

yes. i watch channel 11 news every morning while getting ready and they have daily coverage on the elections so i heard that today was primary day.
Also i heard it on z100 this morning

I knew but my parents are very into politics and mentioned it otherwise I have not seen anything around my neighborhood mentioning it. I am not a registered Republican though.

Really annoying on days like this when no one really votes !

As for the Daily News, are you really surprised? It's not really highly regarded in the journalism community.

my parents went around 12 to vote. the guy working the pole was sleeping and they were voters number one and number two. no one went before them

I had no clue! I teach dance at a community center ad they host voting. Yesterday I showed up and one of the head guys was like "are you having class tomorrow?" I was like, "um, why wouldn't I?"

Yes, but only because I worked at the polls today. Otherwise I would have had no idea. It was so quiet all day... we got less than 100 votes total.

We are registered Republicans and had no idea as well!
Actually, come to think of it, we don't answer our phone if the caller ID is Anonymous or Out of Area or some other "telemarketer" number. I noticed before the light flashing that we had a message. I called into our VM and to my surprise, there were 5 messages. Each and every one of them was a recorded message, mostly half cut off, about voting for one candidate or another!
I guess we didn't put two and two together on that one!

I only knew because I am a registered voter abroad, and I got quite a few emails about and a ballot in the mail a month or so ago.
