Your story brought tears to my eyes. As a mommy of a 31 weaker with a 7 week NICU stay, your story is all too familiar. It seems like your little one is doing great and progressing wonderfully. Just wanted to check in with an update.
Owen will actually be 5 weeks old tomorrow and the buzz is he will be home in about 1-2 weeks!
He is doing awesome and just gets better and stronger every day! His feeding tube came out last night. He gets all of his feedings by bottle. I nurse him once a day for 15-20 minutes then finish with a bottle. He gets tuckered out! I cannot wait to have him home! Almost!!!  
ETA: He was born at 2 pounds 14 ounces and is almost 4 1/2 pounds!

Wow, just read your original post, what a story!
He is such an amazing, strong little guy!
I can't imagine all the emotions you & DH must have gone through
He looks so adorable! Glad to hear he will be home soon!  ---that's for you & your family for being so strong through everything

Beautiful story!! My son was born 6 weeks early at LIJ. I had an emergency c section due to pre-eclampsia. My son was there for 39 days and even though his weight was good, 5 pounds 13oz he has a lot of other issues. I loved everyone at LIJ. Your pictures could have told my story c-pap, holding him for the first time, the bath and a ton of milk that yes I did donate for the study too. Sending you tons of prayers for your son! He will be home soon!
