Anyone been to Sesame Place on a holiday?

We had a very bad first visit this year. We went for the Halloween thing and it was so crowded that it was unbearable. However, I was told by several people at the park that it was unusual. Without exaggeration, we waited over an hour for the carousel (which caused us to not go on anymore rides the whole day).

That being said, we have already bought our 2012 season passes (which is why we went this fall--it was free) so I am trying to plan ahead. In the past when I have visited Great Adventure, I found that holidays tend to have less crowds as people are typically at BBQs. Has anyone gone to Sesame on 4th of July? I noticed that it is on a wednesday this year. i also dont want the opposite to be true and have it packed like it was in September.

Any input?

My daughters bday is July 3rd my dh took off the 3rd and 4th. We left it up in the air if we would go on the 4th. We chose to go last min. It was AWESOME! Wasn't crowded at all we had a blast and are planning on going back next yr.

What we did was leave the house at 19 got there around noon had lunch down the road at chick fil a ( better food and much much cheaper) so by the time we entered the park it was aboit 1pm. We did all the water rides and wet stuff till about 430. We then got changed and did the dry stuff at 6we ate dinner ( we packed a cooler and brought sandwiches in ( the food there is expensive and not all that great) did a round on the carousel got our souvenirs and then plopped down on the street with ice cream got a great seat for the 8pm parade and fireworks. It was absoljtely perfect and dd wasn't exhausted by the night because we went later in the day.

Highly recommend going. We went back later in the season in Aug on a Monday and it was 10xs more crowded
