Need a new Book Club pick

Recommend something good you just read that would be an excellent discussion piece for my friends and I. We've read a couple of bad books recently and need something good!

Dosen't have to be a specific genre but I would like to be able to read it on my Kindle. TIA!

Did you read The Help?

No but a girl in my group already did. That was considered an "extra credit" book

Re: Need a new Book Club pick

No but I should probably let you guys know that we're not into romantic novels or chick lit so I think that leaves alot of these books out.

We all really like The Hunger Games, Hangman's Daughter, The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, Eat Pray Love, The Shack, Parable of the Sower, etc- books like that

We read Miss Peregrines Home for Peculiar Children by Ransom Riggs in my book club last month. Great book and I think more along the lines of what you are looking for.

Re: Need a new Book Club pick

I highly recommend "The Glass Castle," by Jeannette Walls. It was truly a thought-provoking book, but without the extreme emotional fatigue of Jodi Picoult. (I like her, don't get me wrong, but sometimes her books drain me.) My Mom read this for her book club, and they all loved it.
