For the weather junkies out there.....
Did you see how close Katia came to us? INSANE! We saw clouds from her and radar shows some of the outer bands of rain were about 100 miles away from the tip of LI.
If you are on FB, I highly recommend following 'Craig Allen On-Air Inc' as he is a level headed meteorologist that truly adds some awesome facts and explanations. (ANd you can see the satellite pictures of katia) Although he is media, he isn't the media hype kind of guy. And his sense of humor rocks too! He is a great guy to know personally and his professional FB page does allow some of his personality to shine through.

what about Maria? from what I am seeing on the maps, it shows a potential track similar to Irene.... Hopefully not, we have so much water already

Too early to tell. But I would keep watching her. The main good news with her is that she is having problems organizing and strengthening. SO we can hope that continues.
