What do you think is an average price for a round trip plane ticket from the NY area to Los Angeles?

The two times we went to LA it cost us between $350-$400 for our flights.

Sounds about right. Everything I'm pricing right now is giving me $379 per ticket. For some reason I'm having a hard time hitting the "GO" button in spending $1500 on plane tickets!

I just went to LA in January. Round trip from JFK to LAX, I paid $298 on Virgin Atlantic.
