Colonoscopy ...

Hi ............tomorrow is the prep day........don't know how I am actually going to drink the two bottles without gagging. I keep telling myself that the prep is the hardest part and I will get through it.
I have gaterade, jelllo, and chicken broth. Is there anything else I can eat that you know of? Does anyone know how long the procedure is? I have to be there at 8:45.

You can have ice pops or italian ices as long as they do not have any fruit bits...oh and nothing RED. The prep is awful and be prepared to gag...wish I could say other wise. The test is pretty quick- my Dr. puts me under general anesthesia so it take a bit longer.

It's not fun but overall it wasn't as bad as I expected. You'll be fine! I think I was there close to 3 hours.

One tip my dr gave me was to suck on a lemon to cut the flavor of the drink. It definitely helped me.

I started prep for mine at like 2pm. 6+ hours later I called the doctor to say "NOTHING" is happeneing.

He said wait.

FINALLY by about 9pm I "started"...and by 11pm I was "done".

Honestly the drink is gross, there is no way around it.

But the procedure was EASY. especially since I had one doctor I was alling McDreamy. I was like (to myslef) "hope he likes my naked a$$".

I was just a little gassy after and was great. The whole thing was 2 hours the day of the procedure.

What prep are you doing?

My doc gives me miralax in gatorade. Way better than the go litely stuff.
