Dude where is the other??

I am a FTWM. I love it! BUT, I wouldn't mind being a PTWM. That is my "other" answer.

FTWM... would love to work part time. And if we could afford it I could also totally do the sahm thing.

I'm a SAHM and picked other...there are days that I could NOT imagine myself working then there are days that I wish I was at work..I think I'd like to be a PTWM but make my old salary of working....

im a sahm and i wont lie i would love to get out and get a part time job but daycare is to expensive and dh works during the day the goes to classes at night so i could only work weekends but i dont want to do that since thats our only "family time" all together.. So for now i suck it up. lol dont get me wrong i love being home n getting to spend time with dd but i need/want more adult interaction and my brian wants to be used again.

I'm a PTWM, and I work 8-10 hours a week. Honestly, I hate that time away from my little guy, even though my DH watches him. I would love to not have to go to work, I want my job description to just be "mommy". I think after DC#2 (definitely after #3) I will be staying home full time.

Been a SAHM for 9 months and i am going back to being a FTWM on monday. i'm a teacher so i have good hours and lots of vacation time and can be a SAHM all summer. my perfect scenario would be working part-time. i love my job and i also love being home. i would like to work 2 or 3 days a week instead of 5. that would be great!

I was a FTWM and truly hated it 90% of the time. now I am a SAHM, some days are tough bc it's winter, but fall spring and summer I LOVE it.

FTWM: I had to get DS dressed, out of the house, work FT, pick him up, wash bottles feed him, clean house, cook dinner all the other nonsense to do it all again 5 days in a row. too much running around

SAHM: I'm busy, the kids can drive me nuts, but FTWM was much harder for me, I felt like life (and baby's life) was just passing me by. when he was 10 months old I stayed home w/ him. I also could not deal w/ my inlaws "knowing" him better than I did.

FTWM and I wouldn't say I am not happy about it, but if it were a good option for us, I would prefer to be a PTWM.

SAHM and love it. Honestly, every now and then I have a really insane day with the kids and I start wishing I were somewhere else. But you know what, at my old job before the kids came, sometimes I would have a really bad day at work and start fantasizing about quitting my job and staying home. So the grass really IS always greener.

I am a FTWM.

I *think* being a PTWM or SAHM would be cool, but ..... sometimes on my days off or my vacation weeks....I wish I were at work. Sometimes I feel like being at work would be so much easier, and I envy when DH gets to go to work and I'm off.

I also would worry if I were a SAHM as far as my retirement, no 401k...all the other "what ifs"..etc.

But mostly, I'd be too scared to be a SAHM I think. I know it's not easy AT ALL.

PTWM and it's perfect for me! I went to work today and was so happy to get out of the house after being stuck inside for 2 days with a 2 year old

I was a PTWM for years, and have been off on Mat leave for almost a year now. I am due to go back to work in about a month and have to make a big decision...I enjoyed working, but will only be working now to take home £300 a month...thats not really worth it.

I loved working, and I love being at home with the kids.....the money is only secondary at this point.

I can't even give a poll answer. I am super other!

I was a FTWM from when DS was 6 weeks old to 17 months old. I cried every Sunday for quite a while, but loved it once I got into the week. I know it sounds odd, but I loved the structure I had, and felt very accomplished all the time. DS was STTN by the time I went back to work, so that obviously helped a lot.

I thought I would go back to being a FTWM in September, when DS was 19 months, but I didn't. So technically I'm a PTWM, but it's super part-time (4-6 hours a week). I thought I would hate it but I can't imagine not being with DS. I have seen him grow so much in the past 6 months. i can't imagine not having been there. But...I need a job and will have to take one if I can get one. My stomach sinks when I check the listings for my field every week.

I go back and forth between #5 and #6 on an hourly basis

I think a 2 day a week PT job would be perfect for me - or my old job, where i was a marketing rep (technically full time) but worked out of the house 5 days a week and only on the road 2. I would do it again in a heartbeat, but #1 there are NO jobs available at all right now, and #2 even if one opened up, it would mean a week oOS for training

I LOVE working.

But hey if I could make the same cash and work from home 2days a week I'd be in heaven! haha

was a SAHM for 3 yrs loved it, recently became a PTWM only work 8 hrs a week so technically still SAHM
