Severe diaper rash
Derek has such bad diaper rash. I have been putting balmex on it but it's not doing much. Neither of my kids ever had diaper rash so i don't even know what works best  he had diarrhea from the flu and the antibiotics he's on

air it out and cornstarch.
the boy i use to watch use to get them...i would pour cornstarch on him before his naps, within 2 hours, big improvement!

don't use baby wipes either! do a gentle wash with water in the sick, or even just tab with a washcloth, but i would stay away from wipes.

Definitely try triple paste and air it out as much as you can between each change.
Cornstarch after the triple paste applicaiton also helps.
If it doesn't work after a week or so, the ped. can give you something stronger. My DS actually had an infection which can only be cured with some antibacterial stuff.

I use triple paste and combine with aquaphor...works like a charm!

My kids never ever had a rash either so I had no clue what to do when the babies got one recently after their stomach virus.
Letting them be diaper free sometime helped. I used wet washcloths instead of wipes and triple paste with a&D over it. Cleared it up in a few days.

I always have success with...
Equal parts of Triple Paste, Mylanta (original - not mint) and Cornstarch Powder. Mix it in a contain and be a little more generous with the Triple Paste. Apply it at every diaper change.
I actually just made some for Gregory and the ped commented about how his hiney looked like it was clearing up
