South Hempstead and Baldwin
So we were going to look at a house in S. Hempstead yesterday, but the realtor blew me off. It was on Webber, close to Grand Ave. The area seemed ok, but looked sketch if you went up Grand Ave one way. Is that a decent part of S. Hempstead, or should we look closer to RVC? It was RVC school district.
Since we were in the area, we drove around to see if there were any open houses. We went in. It wound up being in Baldwin/Baldwin school district, right off Grand.
WOW!!!!!!!! it was BEAUTIFUL..all modern and updated. amazing bathroom (jacuzzi) and beautiful kitchen all new hard wood floors, big rooms, spacious...3 bedrooms..2 bathrooms.
289,000!!!!!!!! I know it's because it's Baldwin school district, but is the district that bad??? How is that area of Baldwin? You couldnt beat that price for that house. We went into two houses earlier in Franklin Square that were more and not HALF as nice. ONly bad thing...no backyard. So is Baldwin reallllllly not a good district or area to live???

Re: South Hempstead and Baldwin
So where did you ultimately buy? Baldwin can get sketchier the closer you are to South Hempstead (crime wise) but the south you go, the quieter the blocks become.
