I cant be friendly with her. There are 4 neighbors across the street who are such a bunch of yentas. I had our Puerto Rican flag out last sunday (I'm Italian DH is PR) and I heard the wife say oh mira mira no speaka da english. I was livid. I hang my Italian flag out on Columbus day and have my American flag out every other day why now does she have to make a comment.

I felt bad for his wife when I first read your initial post but now that you shared that she is an ignorant woman, I say, "They deserve each other!"

I like the idea of saying hi to the wife, just to freak out the DH.
I have to be honest though, it it were me, I'd WANT someone to tell me. I really would!
But, I can definitely think of a few good reasons why you shouldn't say anything!

THese people are horrible. They yell all day long, they take all the parking spaces because they all have basketball hoops out. They sit out at night until 2am playing cards, lauging and talking like it was 12 noon.
