Temping Question

So as all of you know, TTC can make us all go CRAZY!!! hahah.....Well that being said, at 5:15am this morning, I just woke up on my own (not even fully awake) and stuck the thermometer right into my mouth. Once the thermometer beeped, I woke up and I am like "what am I doing?" Anyways the temp was 97.21 (which got me very nervous right away because I thought the temp should have been higher since I just Oed two days ago.) Well I went right back to bed (bc I never wake up at 5:15) and then my alarm went off at 6:30 (the time that I always temp) and I took my temperature again and it read 98.24. Now that number flows much better in my chart, but what I am confused about is why the HUGE difference? What temperature should I be using? When I took my reading at 6:30, i didnt have 3 hours of continuous sleep, because I was up for that 2 minutes when taking my temperature at 5:15.

AHHH soo confused!??! Hoping I could hear some of your opinons as to what number I should use in my chart.

I had the same question last month and I asked FF and they suggested using the first temp- but noting that it was an earlier time- when you put it into fertility friend with the 5:15 it should show it as an open circle- if your temps stay up you could also go back & discard it hth

Thank you for your response!!! I put the two numbers into FF and they came up with their suggested number to use. For now I am going to use that number and then see what temperature I get tomorrow.
