Time Share Owners...
So my DH and I are considering buying a time share. Specifically the Hilton Grand Vacations Club as it is based on points and u can travel anywere and at anytime, vs. jsut staying in one resort. we figured out the package we want to purchase, but i would also like to hear from some other people their thoughts on timeshare ownership, and if you found it a worthy investment...
we travel about 2 times a year, with several weekend trips here and there more locally.

My friend has the Hilton and likes that one the best. I don't know many details but he loves it and stays in really nice places. He's had it for many, many years.

We love owning a timeshare. We love that our home resort is huge and can entertain us for the full week if that's what we choose. Having 2 bedrooms is huge for us because we need the extra room now that we have kids. We own within RCI and find that their exchanges and bonus offers are great. Before you buy direct through Hilton I would suggest looking at resale sights, you can usually get them MUCH cheaper.

We own through Starwood and are very happy with our purchase. We own in Orlando and have used it to go to Cabo, Hawaii, Aruba and ILs have used it to go to Puerto Vallarta.
We exchange through II (used to be through RCI).
We currently have a 1br but are looking to upgrade to a 2br.

We own through RCI and LOVE it. We usually exchange and go somewhere else, but the hotels are always very nice. If you travel at least once a year it's totally worth it!

We own 2 timeshares with Hilton Grand vacation club in orlando.. it has it's ups and downs..
overall we love it and wouldn't be able to travel half as much with our children it we didn't have it. But it does carry a big expense. and all the extra fees are annoying.

We own through Wyndham (formerly Fairfield) and can use our points for RCI. It is great but sometimes difficult when you are travelling during peak time...you don't always get the resort you want. Other than that, we love it!

Same here. It is an extra expense that I wish we didnt have right now as money is tight but it definitely is worth in the long run....
