Where to stay in Vegas

I am planning a trip to Vegas for five nights for my husbands 30th birthday in May.

I would like to book a reasonably priced hotel as we would prefer spending our $$ on entertainment (getting him UFC tickets at Mandalay BayChat Icon ) and not so much on our room. I do however want a nice pool and bar Chat Icon

Any suggestions/reviews?

I love Wynn! Bellagio is nice too.

Prices have come down a lot. You can stay at these hotels for the same price of what a moderate price hotel cost a year or two ago.

Re: Where to stay in Vegas

I've stayed at Treasure Island, The Mirage, The Venetian, and The Tropicana. My favorite was The Venetian, but TI and the Mirage were really nice as well. I wouldnt stay at the Tropicana again. It was really dirty, as there was a roach in our bathroom the first morning, so we checked out.

What I love about Vegas is that you can always get amazing deals on rooms. The next time I go, I'm dying to stay and Mandalay Bay.

Re: Where to stay in Vegas

Chat Icon I love that everyone replied with the most expensive hotels in Vegas Chat Icon

We go every year and have stayed at a bunch of different places...

Not sure how you define "not spending too much" but some good middle of the road places with good rates are Treasure Island, Monte Carlo, and Luxor.

There are also VERY cheap places with decent facilities on the strip... Flamingo (advertises it's pool alot, though I've never been), Harrah's, Hooters has a nice pool but their rooms are "eh"...

As pps said, there are some GREAT deals out there now.. I stayed in MGM in November and paid like $60/night.

Smartervegas.com can have some amazing deals on it.

We stayed at the Venetian -- but we got a great deal where it was only $109 a night.

Re: Where to stay in Vegas

I have always stayed wherever I've been able to get the best deal. Based on my experiences, I don't think you can go wrong with any of the hotels on the strip. I've stayed at Paris, Bally's, Harrah's, Luxor, Excalibur, and Tropicana and would most definitely stay at any one of them again. Bally's, Harrah's and Paris were most convenient location wise. I might stay away from Stratosphere only bc it is really at the waaay end of the strip, and a far walk from everything.

Winn. Also, there are a lot of deals for them on Slickdeals.net. You can usually get a room there for $90 or less with breakfast from the codes posted on slickdeals.

Re: Where to stay in Vegas

We got a great deal through orbitz a few years ago and stayed at Paris. We were upgraded for some reason into a mini-suite and it was great. I thought the location was great, too. Have fun!

Re: Where to stay in Vegas

Mandalay Bay is by far my favorite...and we caught a great deal last year when we went.

We've also stayed at Monte Carlo and the Rio twice, and they're great, and very reasonably priced.

stayed at Paris, Excalibur and Mirage. Paris and Mirage were great. Excalibur was outdated and dingy.

We stayed at NY NY this past September and it was great and found great rates on Expedia. For inexpensive but on the strip - and good hotels - check out Excalibur and Luxor too! ENJOY!!!!

Re: Where to stay in Vegas

Cheap hotels with nice pools that I've been to - MGM, Monte Carlo and Flamingo. (I love the Flamingo's pool!)

We booked for Memorial Weekend because flights are so cheap for then right now!
