Please help settle a debate....
My friend and I were discussing TTC. The question is: How likely is it for someone who is TTC to get PG during the time that they are not "ovulating?"
We both understand the whole--needs to be an egg thing. People are bding all the time and some ppl don't even "track" their cycles and end up pregnant. Was their timing just right or is it possible?

The sperm can live up to 5 days inside granted the conditions are right. (EWCM) So it is feasible to have sex 5 days before Oing and still get pregnant. Having sex after Oing is far less likely to result in a pregnancy as the egg only lives for 12-24hours.

That was my argument (with the days) however my friend said she knew more than 1 person who got pg from bding right after AF. So it didn't make sense to me.

O dates can vary. Women can O earlier than expected. So yes, it's possible to get pg right after AF.

Exactly, let's say you bd the day after AF or even on the last day of AF. If the sperm does survive 5 days from then and you O in that time frame, as many women do it can result in a pregnancy. That's why they always told us in health class that YES we could get pg from sex during AF.
Seeing things like this always makes it easier for me to understand:
Example: *Susie* has AF from CD 1-6, she BD's on CD 6. If she O's on CD11 there could still be sperm left alive. And if she BD's on CD 7 the day after AF she could O on CD12 and still get pregnant.
