Ew - a roach! Compliments of amazon.com!
My BFF sent DS a Christmas gift via Amazon.com. When I opened the large box, the toy was surrounded by crumbled brown paper.
A ROACH crawled out of the box! 
Thank G0D my kitty was nearby and started swatting it immediately. I might not have noticed it otherwise. 
Just a PSA: leave your items in the garage until you take them out of the box! I am so skeeved right now!!!!!

I honestly think that would scar me for life.
I would have to go for years and years of exposure therapy before being able to slice open another box.

ACK!!! That is GROSS!!!
I suppose it makes sense since these items are on shelves in a stockroom somewhere before they are shipped to you.
But EIWWW!
I used to fix computers for an oil company and when I got shipments from certain depots, I would open them out in the garage, just in case. All sorts of ickies would crawl into the warm computer cases through the air vents.

Roaches love paper products. In college, I worked at a bakery one time in the summer and roaches would come in in the cake box shipment.

This is why I do not even get take out packed in a box. I am such a bug a phobic, my exterminator says I am pretty bad when it comes to bugs. And I just get the outside of my house sprayed every month. I call my exterminator my 2nd DH. LOL!! If I see a spider I freak out-, I make sure it is dead as a doornail before I will even flush it down the toilet- a roach would send me to the psych ward!

You're right... And in all honesty, it could've even been from the UPS truck that delivered it! The box was slightly bent in, so anything could've crawled in or out.
