When does the ridiculous acne go away?
I am 16 weeks and for the last three weeks my face is absolutely ridiculous. It is definitely cystic acne. Does it last the entire pregnancy or will I get a break? It is really horrible. The derm gave me finacia but it doesn't seem to be doing much.

mine is horrible as well and I am also 16 weeks I am waiting for a break! I have tiny little bumps all over!! It is killing me!

Just wanted to say I'm in the same boat! Cystic acne, painful if I touch, looks bad. I might ask my doctor if I can use something specific for it.

I had the same exact thing and my derm also put me on Finacea. I cant remember when exactly, but it did start to get better. I was in my second trimester probably closer to 20 weeks when I noticed a difference. Now at 32 weeks my acne is much better. I still get a pimple or two (sometimes cystic like) but nothing like before.

i have bad cystic acne that got worse with DS. my OB and Derm okay'd Finacea and Azelex (one is 15%, one is 20%) - it's azelaic acid. it is AMAZING. i have very, very good skin now. it takes a while to work (4-8 weeks) but i would look like a monster without it

I definitely have cystic acne too. I didn't go to a derm (though I should have) and it started clearing up on it's own in the beginning of the third trimester. I just hope it's on its way out for good now!

Mine isn't cystic but terrible as well. Pre-pregs I was prone to a breakout here and there but since about 12 weeks I have had consistently bad skin. I have like 2 or 3 obvious blemishes and then my skin in general/close up is GROSS like allll little tiny bumps and blackheads. Oh and I have like 4 whoppers on my back which is LOVELY considering I am a BM next weekend in a spaghetti strap dress!!!!!!!!!!!!

Me too- tiny blackheads all over the place. Im using Belli Acne Pregnancy Cleanser...works to ward off major breakouts- havent had any since using it!

Hate to be the bearer of bad news but my nice clear skin really didn't return until AFTER my DD was born. It really wasn't bad until my 3rd tri luckily but it did clear up entirely within a few weeks of my DD being born.

Ugh. 19 weeks here and my skin is getting WORSE!
It started around 10 weeks and just isn't pretty. Red pimples on my chin, jawline, and forehead.
And I NEVER got pimples before getting PG...
I went to the bathroom before and two more sprouted on my jaw. I could cry if I think about it.

I had what I would call cystic acne on my face (especially on my forhead and my entire hairline) shoulders and chest!  It was the worst symptom by far. I mean it actually hurt! I tried Proactive and that didn't work (Dr. OK'd it).
I'm 20 weeks and it's finally subsiding. I think you might just need to wait it out. I know, it's miserable.
