I don't live in NY, so I'm not sure how this disability thing works? Is disability something you're just given or do you have to pay for a disability plan on your own? With 1 year of service, my company will pay 3 weeks of your maternity and you can use whatever you have for time off as well. So by September I'll have 6 weeks paid and 6 weeks not paid. This is not going through any kind of disability though. Do you know if there is something I can do so I do get some pay if I go through disability? My company offers separate disability plans but of course you pay monthly for them. I'm really clueless, so if anyone can help clarify to me how it works, I'd REALLY appreciate it!!! Thanks!
