Dh's job S*cks!!!!

So, friday is my first Dr. Appt. It's at 3pm, I already talked to my bosses and we will be getting out early, so it's fine for me.

Dh is a plumber and he had originally told the girl who schedules the jobs that he was going with me and that it was my first appt (so she would be nice). and now she is telling him he has to take the whole day (and not get paid) and then he will not get paid for Monday since you have to work the day before a holiday to get paid for it.

We really can't afford for him to not get paid for 2 days of work.

I don't know what to do. I really want him there, he really wants to be there, but those two days make a big difference right now since we are trying to save, paying off cc's and have a trip booked at the end of the month!

GRRRR, I don't know what to do adn now I just want to cry.

Depending if this is your first appt with a sono or not, the first appt with no sono really isn't that exciting.

I know DH did not go to any appts with me unless they were sonos.

That really does su(k! I would probably have him work that day. The first appointment is really exciting, but if he's going to have a hard time getting off for appointments, it's better for him to be there for the 12 week- there's just a lot more to see.

I went alone to my first appt... didn't even know if i was going to get a sono or anything... but I did. It was hard to do it alone, but once I was there the staff made me feel very welcome... for us the timing wasn't good, and DH needed to work...but I didn't want to put off my appt. He has gone to every other appt. besides the one to scan for Down's since my MOm never saw a sono....

Can he maybe just take an hour off from 245-345 or something? That way he's still working the day and can get paid for Monday??

I totally understand. I go to most of my appointments alone. DH went to my two sonograms, one at 10 weeks and then the anatomy one. He works in the city, and can barely take off. I have to be understanding b/c I know he would rather be at the appointments than work.
To loose 2 days pay seems silly. You can use the money to do something together. Go to the appointment and call him as soon as you leave. That's what I do, it is now sort of a tradiition. He so looks forward to the phone call.
Everything will work out.

i did my 1st apt alone...i didnt even think to bring dh (and didnt know ppl did that). i figured it was more just a confirmation of being preg.

for me, it really wasnt a big deal. i was early so the sono was uneventful. but everyone feels differently.

if u realllly want him there for the first apt (if it has a sono), i would reschedule. if not, take him to the next one but i wouldnt want him to miss the pay from work.

Dh talked to his boss this AM and he told him to come in for half the day, he wants to duscuss a special project with him and he only needs him for a few hours!

YAY!!! Now he can come and get paid for both days!!
