my aunt just backed out of daycare less than 3 wks before work :(

My aunt watched DD a few days a week last year (i'm a teacher) and the rest of the week she was at another woman's home. The plan for this school year was that she would be with my aunt just on Thursday and the other woman's house the rest of the week. Last week I see my aunt and she mentions she MIGHT be getting a part time job and she wasn't sure which days it would be. She calls me today (2 1/2 weeks before I go back to work) to tell me she got the job and will be working tue-thur and can't watch DD!!!! I'm so annoyed because I did NOT want to spend the end of my summer worrying about finding daycare for one day!! The other woman watching DD told me in June that she CAN'T watch her on Thurs. So now I'm hoping that there's been a change and DD can go there Thur...otherwise IDK!!!!

thanks ! there's a possibility that a sitter she's been going to this summer MIGHT have an opening , but it's a small chance! Otherwise I'm going to have to start from scratch :( UGH!

This is the worst stress, I'm sure. I am so sorry your aunt did that to you. Sometimes family can be the most unreliable daycare to choose. I hope you find a great option for your DD, so you can enjoy what's left of your summer!

I'm really sorry! That stinks! People don't always realize how long it takes to find a good nanny/babysitter/daycare and think it's no big deal to back out last minute. I hope you find someone!!!
