My new furbaby addition!!
Sooo today I told my fiancee we were going to the mall, when really all along I wanted to go to North Shore Animal League to play with puppies! When we got there they had SO MANY puppies, since they got a bunch from the puppy mill rescues and from a kill shelter in Tennessee.
We luckily found the special little new addition to our family halfway around the dog area!! He is ADORABLE, a doberman/hound mix (but who knows really), around 12 wks old, sweetest thing ever. He is just so mellow and chill. We absolutely fell in love with him and took him home so now we have our new pup named Tiberius! (No one will get that if they didn't see the Star Trek movie lol)
It has been a rough adjustment with our dominant little fiesty chihuahua but we expected that. She went after him a few times but was mostly curious so we are working through that. She is very possessive with us so we're trying to be firm but not disrupt her life too much, maintain her "alpha dog" position as the booklet they gave us said to do and I'm hoping pretty soon they are best friends!! She had the same reaction to her other two best boy dog friends (hated them at first, totally nasty, and around the third visit she loved them and has ever since) so I am sure it will get better and better!
Anyway so I'm excited and wanted to share, I felt so guilty about getting my other dog from a store but at the time we made an impulse decision and now I'm so glad I got him from a shelter. They have so many great dogs there!! I will post pictures when I locate my camera charger...

Congratulations on your furbaby! We also got our dog Lexi from NSAL...originally from a kill shelter in Tennessee.

Thanks everyone, I just posted in another thread but in just a few short days these dogs have done a great job of getting to know each other and working things out, they have gotten used to each other and my dog is handling it really well, I'm so proud of her  and glad that she's not miserable. I'm sure as time goes on they will continue to get better and she will relax even more.
Here is proof of their peaceful cohabitation lol... my first dog Ginger is the chihuahua, and the dobie/hound/whatever else is mixed in their mutt with the brown/black coloring is Tiberius the new baby! A few of them playing yesterday and one of Gingey so you can see her pretty face
