I finished under 5. Not bad considering the wind was
unbearable in the beginning. The bathroom breaks killed my
time. 15 minutes wasted

my dh ran. it was so much fun watching on cheering everyone on.
he did better than he expected to, only a few minutes off his best time ever (in '06) coming in at 3:31
congrats to everyone! it is such an awesome accomplishment!

My brother ran but had to walk the last few miles as he blew his knees out 
He wound up with 4:45...but he is happy he finished

Congrats to everyone who ran. I ran 4 miles yesterday morning and thought the wind was so rough. I can't imagine how you all did it

I'm finally back in ATL...and it's so good to be home. Sunday I ran a 4:06!! This was 20 minutes faster than my '06 time!! With that said, I actually didn't have a good run...my body just didnt react the way it usually does and unexpected extreme soreness started before I reached Manhatten and had 10 miles to go...not good! I sufferend through Manhatten and the Bronx and was trying to figure out what was going wrong. I saws my friends and BF 3x on the course which was amazing and helped A LOT!! So all in all I did well, I finished and did the best I could!
This was my last NYC Marathon, and am considering Chicago for next fall where I would have the potential of a sub 4 hour time which is my goal.
I am now giving myself the week to recover. My back, quads and hamstrings are all very angry with me...thank goodness my BF traveled with me today, all movement is very difficult...it's unreal!!
To all of you reading...thanks for all the support throughout the training process...it was so nice to come on here and report my latest mileage each week. Your encouragement, advice and support means so much and I couldn't wait to get on here and tell you all the final results!
Congratulations to all who ran Sunday...you are all amazing!!!
ETA: Out of about 39K runners, my place was 14,900!

Truly the 2nd BEST DAY OF MY LIFE!!!!
(next to my weddin gday, we dont have kids yet)...
I ran a 5 hour marathon, def could have gone faster but wanted to stick with my father and sister and friend. staying together was more important than finishing faster. we had a few bathroom stops along the way which slowed us down. But i had no aches or pains, crossed that line holding hands (i know - corny) and with a HUGE smile on my face!!!
who cares though - I( finished a marathon and had an incredible expereince and CANNOT wait to sign up for the next one!! would love to do NYC again, but might try another city. Chicago sounds like a great option!
congratulations to all the other runners!!

Congratulations on the great run!! I am so jealous you felt great...I guess we have good days and bad...it just wasn't a good one for me!
The high will last about a week...live it up...you deserve it!!!
