Re: GETTING MARRIED WITHOUT MY MOM!!

Chat Icon My mom Passed away it will be 4 yrs come Xmas Eve, the past few years have been horrible, but something inside you will make you go through your wedding beautifully. I just got married last year and a good friend of mine made me a beautiful beaded bracelet and put pics of Mom and Me and one of just my Mom, I pinned it to my bouquet, plus I am using her beautiful wedding band that way she is with me all the time. Whether you cry or not at your wedding your Mom will always be a part of it, she is with you all the time, just talk to her. The pain never goes away, does it get easier I don't think so I think you learn to cope with it better. Have a Great Wedding.....

Re: GETTING MARRIED WITHOUT MY MOM!!

I got married without my mom or dad 4 yrs ago. It hurts. Sorry to be so blunt. I sometimes get mad when people complain of there Mom's. I wish i had one. I did not have the mother- son, dad daughter dances. I wanted to think of them that day, and not be a basket case. I also inccorparted some things into my wedding, so that I knew it was there. I had my Mom's bible that she used at here wedding put into my bouquet, I took my throw away bouquet to the grave, I wore a piece of her jewelry that day. I am so sorry for your loss. feel free to FM mail me if you need to talk.

ETA- My Mom passed in 1994, and my dad passed in 2001. The pain never really goes away, but it does get better.Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

Re: GETTING MARRIED WITHOUT MY MOM!!

I know what you are going through, I lost my Mom 2 years ago and my Dad 10 years ago today. I got married 10 months ago with out either of my parents. I didn't think that I would get through my wedding without them. I know that they were there in there own way, standing beside me. Just like your Mom will be there with you on your wedding day.
She will help you get through on your wedding day.
My prayers are with you.

Re: GETTING MARRIED WITHOUT MY MOM!!

I got married almost 2 years after my mom passed and my sister got married 9 weeks after she passed. I won't lie, it is hard, but like the others have said, she will be there with you on that day. Chat Icon

I am getting married in 23 days and understand a little. For me, it is my dad that passed away 9 years ago. There are times I hear a song and just start balling my eyes out. I hope I can keep it together during our ceremony. Your mom will be in your heart and memories forever.

Re: GETTING MARRIED WITHOUT MY MOM!!

i'm so sorry for everyone's lossesChat Icon i got married 4 months after my mother passed away and everyone not only me was a wreck but it had to be done. it was the place she picked, the day she picked with the dress she picked so i had to do it. it was one of the hardest bitter sweet things i've ever encountered but i know she would have loved it. i tried to keep a piece of her throughout the hall. i had pictures up of my parents wedding and after my first dance, the first song to open the dance floor was her favorite and i said a really quick speech about how she will be on the dance floor with all of us. good luck to you and just know that she'll be there beside you every step of the way. Re: GETTING MARRIED WITHOUT MY MOM!!

My Mom passed away almost 4 years before I got married, also from breast cancer.

The months, weeks and days leading up were very hard. I ended up making a little angel arrangement for her to be displayed during our receptions. I put that with a picture of her on her wedding day next to it. It was something small but it made me feel better to be able to see something that was special just for her. Maybe you can do something similar?

Our wedding day ended up being very happy and although I missed her, I knew she was there. Hopefully you'll be able to experience the same feelings instead of the intense sorrow I know you must feel now. Re: GETTING MARRIED WITHOUT MY MOM!!

my mom died of breast cancer almost 13 years ago. i was only 20 at the time. I got married and my mom was not there as well. I wont lie. I cried everything i went for a dress fitting and saw all the moms and daughters together. And i cried on my wedding day as well. BUT. i didnt let it overcome my whole day. I got a good cry in and went on to enjoy my day and celebrate, they way your mom would have wanted. FM me anytime if you need to talk. Chat Icon

Re: GETTING MARRIED WITHOUT MY MOM!!

Sorry, that your Mom will not be there to share in your special day. Just remember that she will be there in spirit.

I lost both of my Parents before my Wedding day. I just said....this is a wonderful day, and they would be proud of me, So i decided i refuse to cry and i put on a smile and had the best day of my life.
I felt it would have made them sad if i cried that day.
