Re: OK, So once again, my nightly ritual

I actually find that show strangely reassuring... I watch it all the time, and it lets me know what to expect.

I've been scared of developmental / genetic abnormalities. I guess I can sum it up like this:

I fear things I cannot change (Scone's development), and I'm confident when it's a situation I can possibly manage or change (labor)

Re: OK, So once again, my nightly ritual

i totally understand that
i think it is because i have such a LOW tolerance for pain that scares me

i mean, not "scared"; nervous i guess?

Re: OK, So once again, my nightly ritual

yeah, now that you mention it, I do have a very high pain threshold... that likely contributes to my calmness now that you mention it.

If you want to throw up and not cry, yo can search child birth on youtube and when they have the close up on the doctor preforming the epist(spelling is not going to happen so I just abbreviated ;) ) you will throw up...my friends all can't believe I watch these things....

Re: OK, So once again, my nightly ritual

I am really not scared at all. I figure that when the time comes the adrenaline and all my emotions will be so high that I will get through it. I also remember I really want to see my babies and will endure whatever I have to to see them born healthy. I know my mom also had really easy deliveries, so maybe that helps too.

Second that! Don't watch Knocked Up!!! It scared the crap out of me!

I won't watch anything that shows a birth or even listen to someone else's story of birth cuz they all want to tell me their horror stories!!!

The silliest part is the thing I'm scared of the most is the IV, then the epideral, then the hospital food.

Me too especially as the BH contractions seem to last longer and get stronger everyday. I have to keep reminding myself we're made to do this and epidurals are there to make doing it easier.

I LOVE A BABY STORY!! I sit there and cry but I still love it Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

I get really nervous when they have problems with the labor and they go to emergency c-sections and stuff like that, but I try and channel the people who have super easy labors! Chat Icon

Re: OK, So once again, my nightly ritual

this morning, the first woman dilated much quicker than expected and pushed the baby out within minutes... the 2nd woman entered the tub when she was 10cm, relaxed in it for several minutes (didn't even push!) and her uterine contractions pushed the baby out on it's own! hardly any effort!

both babies were super-healthy..

Let's cling to the good stories Chat Icon
