Re: would you....

Yes. I just changed jobs b/c the pay was almost double what I make. The downside is there were only three day to work at this place, so I still have my old job which I work at on Thursday and Fridays. I am an ESL teacher, three days at a University and 2 days at a private English school.

I am moving in March 2009 and I didn't tell them my plans to move.

Yes, especially if there was a chance of it being closer to 18 months.

Yes, as long as I wasn't compromising my quality of life outside of work and walking into a negative/unhealthy environment.

Re: would you....

Without a doubt, as long as the new job wouldn't make getting a job down south harder.

Good luck!!!

Re: would you....

yes. what are the details? Are you just feeling guilty or is there more to it?

Also, did you get that promotion?

I haven't gone on the interview yet- a head hunter called me and said my background was a perfect match

and it is

I feel guilty taking on such a high level position- knowing I am leaving

but it wouldn't hurt my chances of getting a job down south- there is really only 1 company down there (that I know of now) and this could only round out my skills more for them- I work in a VERY small industry

no promotion as of yet- and I don't have a great feeling about it

I still don't have a boss- and my accounts are on FIRE- but I still don't get that warm fuzzy feeling that I am getting what was promised to me

desipte my accounts adding additonal 10%-20% over plan business-

I still have more work and responsible then the person above me (she is a senior marketing manager)

the more I write- the more I realize that I should go for it

I am not out looking for something new- but if falls into my lap- I am a fool not to take it

Re: would you....

I would go for it because it sounds like you are very unhappy in your current place and this would be a great opportunity to earn more and learn more for your move down south. Don't worry about telling them becasue things happen in a year that sometimes you can't control. Chat Icon Good luck!!!
