DH took one week leave. But becaause our son was born just before the holidays he really got close to 2 weeks off with christmas and new years.

He took a week & a half off but unfortunately the baby was in the hospital for the first week.
The second time,he took a week off.

DH took off 3 weeks after I had the baby but got called back after 2 weeks and he took the 3rd week off later on in my maternity leave. I was able to take almost 4 months off.

In the UK men get 2 weeks paid paternity leave, and then he took another 2 weeks holiday (staggered in between family coming to stay with me)

My boys were born on Friday night and he went back to work on Monday since we were all in the hospital and he got off at 1:00 pm.
When they both came home a month later he took 2 weeks off.

DH is a teacher - I had Jack on June 28th - he was home with us for the first two months. It was great.
Same here, except I didn't have Jack

With Sarah he took off while I was in the hosptial and the day she came home, but was back to work that following Monday. Sarah was born at a really busy time for his job so he couldn't be out long, and aside from her birth can't take off on her actual birthday since he usually has companies reporting that day.
With Andy he took off while I was in the hosptial, plus our first week home, but it was the end of June and much slower at work.

DH took the rest of the month off. DS was born on August 10th, and DH took from the 10th till the end of the month. It was great to have him around!

DH took off the day she was born (Friday) and the weekend. By Monday, he was back at work. He has his own business so if he doesn't work, he doesn't get paid.

I think he officially took 2 weeks off, though he works from home when not traveling. He stopped flying 2 weeks before my due date, and I was 10 days late, so he was home a long time.

My son was born on a Tuesday, and I think he went back that following Wednesday (not the day after). Monday was a holiday so it worked out well!!

yes but our situation was different. i went into ;abor 7 weeks early and had to have an emergency c section. dh took personal time for 4 days.
DD was in the nicu for 5 weeks, and he was working during that time. But he did get to the hospital twice a day.
he took a week off when she came home.

He took 1 week at the beginning of my mat leave (12 weeks) and 1 week at the end. We thought that worked out nice. He used his vacation time for it.
