You are a brave woman!Chat Icon I have not dared to look down there, suppose I should, but I'm afraid of what I'll see. It does feel less swollen and weird though (I'm almost 5 weeks past delievy now), so hopefully things are getting better.

Are you still bleeding? That's definitely going to look worse, and I think my swelling only really went down a week ago, so you might be swollen too. If you are really worried, call your doctor, but it's probably fine.

I started to tear and so my OBGYN finished the job by cutting me (pretty much all the way thru I hear) but I would NOT dare llok I am a total chicken, I'm 7 months PP and I still will not look, I am scared or what I will see.

I didn't look but I could feel the stitches when I cleaned the area. I had a pretty good experience - very little pain or discomfort so I didn't want to look to have an image in my head.

I actually didn't tear or have an episiotomy (DS was only 6 lbs. 9 ozs.), but I dared to look down there right before my 6 week apointment. It looked "different". I asked the doctor if it looked "normal". He, very casually, said yes. I asked if he was sure because it didn't look the way it used to. He kind of laughedl, and said, Christine, the anatomy of a woman changes after she has a baby. It was actually very funny!
