Re: How to handle, "I'm just waiting for a grandchild"???
you don't have to tell anyone anything - personally, I didn't say a word to ANYONE until I was 9 weeks PG -
up until that point, as far as everyone but DH knew, I was NO WHERE ready to get PG .......
That way, no one asked, and if/when they did they got the my staple "I'll have a baby when I want to get pregnant" - and you'll know when it's too obvious to hide - answer - I don't care if I was being a *****

Re: How to handle, "I'm just waiting for a grandchild"???
Yesterday she was saying how WHEN I have two kids I'll probably have to move because I'll have outgrown my home. SERIOUSLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This is how she is and I have to learn to just shrug off her STUPID comments. I can't change her.
My husband has talked to her in the past about things that she says to him that piss him off, but I've always tried to keep the peace by just dealing with her comments. She's a good person and I feel bad talking about her, but she says what she wants and doesn't realize how hurtful it can be- especially during this sensitive time. SHe's planning MY life and I'm not even her daughter!!!!
On the flip side, if I tell her we're having trouble I will have to deal with her phone calls everyday to ask how I am and if there is any progress. Even if I say don't bring it up she will. I'm damned if I do, damned if I don't...in the meantime I will take full pleasure in repeatedly making her think I'm not having kids for 5 years... I'm evil, I know..

I would have DH say something to her. I was never secretive about my IF issues. I knew it would stop any questions, and honestly, being open about the fact we were having trouble conceiving was a lot easier than hearing the "when are you having kids" questions.
My IL's were never pushy and DH never told them about our IF until after we announced we were pregnant with twins. But for some reason they still didn't understand because they kept asking if twins run in the family blah blah.

Sorry you are going through this and you are not evil. We are not TTC but people keep asking. I finally told everyone I don't want children so they would stop asking and now I get "Have you Changed your mind yet?" VERY ANNOYING!
