What do you think chances of a BFP after a BPN on 12DPO are?
A friend tested this morning guessing she's 12DPO or so and got a BFN. Sounds like she's due for AF Thursday. While I love to tell her you never know, honestly, at 12DPO, I think chances are slim (not that I would say that to her face). Discuss... At what point do you lose hope? I've heard of some women not getting a BFP until after AF is due, but how likely is that?

Did she use FMU? I would tend to think by 12DPO she would have a BFP if she were PG, but it also depends on how long her cycles are.

What test did she use?
The test box itself should have something about the accuracy of the test depending on when it's taken.
This is from the FRER website:
In clinical testing, FIRST RESPONSE® detected the hormone levels in 69% of women 4 days before their expected period, in 83% of women 3 days before their expected period, in 93% of women 2 days before their expected period, and in 93% of women 1 day before their expected period.

Yes, she used FMU - which is why I agree with you, unlikely it'll go positive in a day or two - but I guess you never know...
And she used Dollar Tree which she now is doubting, but I've used them both times I was pg and they were accurate pretty early on for me.

You never know...
With DD, my last period (CD1) was on 12/30/06. I got a BFN on Feb 4th and I got my BFP on Feb 8th!

It is certainly possible to get a BFP after 12dpo and even not until AF is due.
Me, i would totally give up after 12dpo bc its appears that most girls do find out on or before 12-13dpo

With DD I got BFN's all the way up until the day AF was due.
Got a BFN on Monday, AF was due Tues and got my BFP on Wed morning.
