Does anyone follow HONY on fb? That's where I saw the issue. So HONY has been doing a benefit drive for a bunch of kids to go to summer camp. A rep from the circus comes on and offers tix for 300 families to come. Hundreds of people are commenting that he shouldn't accept the offer since Barnum & Bailey is well known for their abuse of circus animals.

Opinions?

I kind of agree... I feel like it is just a marketing ploy. Now they can say "look how wonderful we are, we just brought these underprivileged kids to the circus!" But, I am biased because I think they are a horrible organization. (Ringling Bros, not HONY).

I pray for the day when circuses that use animals as entertainment are illegal.

I hope HONY respectfully declines their offer.

THIS!!

I hate the circus and will never let DS see one if I can help it.

When animals force and abuse humans to perform for entertainment purposes only then will I support the circus.

Yes, I think every family can make their own decision about whether or not to go to the circus and support it... By taking the tickets (to me), it doesnt imply that the org supports the circus.

i agree.

Not everyone feels the same about the circus and I think its a decision each family can and should make themselves.
