People say the darndest things to pregnant women!
Was asked yesterday when I'm planning on having #2... (Um, #1 is the size of a peanut right now) so I said, "we're only planning on having one."
And I was told this:
Not giving your child a sibling is mean and selfish because some day you'll be dead and your child will be all alone in the world.
What. The. F#*@&????

Wow...Yeah, because your LO is not going to have any family, friends, spouse or support system if they don't have a sister or brother...
People are stupid and should really think before they speak.

I'm usually pretty quick with a response, but I was really taken aback... I pointed out that *I* am an only child, and really enjoyed it... and she counted with, "yes, but someday your parents will be dead and you'll be alone."
YIKES.

Hahahaha, that must be coming from a very sad only child. I happen to be an only child too and would never think to say someone to that, even though I didn't like being an only child!

YIKES.
That is just outrageous whether you're pregnant or not...hopefully not someone you need to speak with often. I can't imagine what else they would say!
