Ok I have no patience anymore ( dd's friend and parents related)

She calls at least 8 times a day from 3 different numbers ..1 is her house,#2 is a cell # ,and #3 is a private number ! I think this is wierd !

If we set up a playdate ,I never speak w/the parent's ( I met them once) ! The parent's just tell her when it is good for us to come get her ! Then if I don't show up at the exact time dd's friend starts calling my house at that time leaving messages Chat Icon I have 3 kids ,and it is not easy being on time when I work nights and get 4 hrs of sleep ,then get 3 kids and myself ready !

Then when I drop her off back home I don't get a thank you from her or her parents, and as soon as we get home this kid is calling my house again !!

I feel bad b/c this really isn't dd's friends fault , I feel it is the parents fault ,but she is 10 yrs old ,and my dd doesnt do this !

WWYD?

When the phone rings for the 5th time I tell dd " No more" ! I am at a loss ! I don't wan't this to be my summer ,where she starts calling my house at 10 am -6pm ..I can't stand it ! Oh yeah I forgot to mention that if I am on the phone and she calls I tell her my dd will call her back b/c I am on the phone ..... well she calls back 5-10 minutes later Chat Icon

Please dont quote I dont know if she comes on here and I am going to take this down !

weird... im not sure what I would do! You could try talking to the parents. Maybe you could call to set up a play date and casually mention the numerous phone calls... tough one!

That is so strange! I wish I had some advice to offer, but I was just talking to my parents about this type of situation this weekend. My brother is 12 & he has a couple of friends that call constantly all day long. If nobody answers at my parents' house, they don't leave a message they just hang up & call again & again & again immediately. My parents have come home to find the same number on the caller ID 10 times in just a few minutes time. My parents have had enough too & keep asking my bother to tell his friends to cut it out, but it's not stopping. They are at a loss about what to do as well. Chat Icon

Kids are a pain sometimes. Why do you have to pick the child up for a playdate. Why don't the parents drop her off. That's what my ds friends do. He is 10 too.

Sounds like you've been given an out right there.

If someone wants a playdate at their house, their parents have to call me. If we want someone over for a playdate at our house, we call & ask to speak to the parents. We work out arrangements - drop offs & pick ups depending on who is available. I'm always willing to drop off or pick up if my kid is the one that wants the playdate.

As for the calling, my guess is the parents do not know how often she is calling. I'm not there yet but my sister gave my nephew some options when one girl left EIGHTEEN messages on their answering machine. He was told, he can only take a certain number of calls a day - and if he wanted to use them up on her, that is it. He also told her no calls after 9pm. Now he's 16 & different rules apply.

Thank you ! I think I am going to start talking to the parents when it comes to playdates ,and talking to DD about the phone calls !
