Do you tell people that your baby was concieved using IF treatments?
A lot of people ask me "were you guys trying". I always say yes it was planned but sometimes I think I should say yes we went through IF treatments. My parents and brother know because I am close to them. I've also now told one of my best frirends who shared with me that she and her husband have been ttc for a year now.

Just about everyone knew we were going through IF treatments. For the few people who did not know, if they ask me I will tell them but I don't think I would offer up the info.

Most people know. DH and I are both very open about our journey. I am pregnant with twins, so a lot of people ask if twins run in the family. I tell most people we conceived via IVF. I know it is the only way we could have gotten pregnant and I feel very thankful for IVF and science. I am so proud to be pregnant with my IVF babies, so I don't mind people knowing. If it is a total stranger, I usually don't mention it. When I tell other people, I sometimes feel like I make them uncomfortable, but it is what it is. I also feel like there is such a stigma attached to IF and I feel like the more people talk about it, the more people will accept it as a real issue. I hope one day all necessary procedures will be covered in full by all insurance carriers.
For those that don't feel comfortable, I think that's totally okay. It's a very private issue and no one has to know your business if you don't care to share.

Our close friends all knew that we were doing IVF. Some other people have asked if we were trying for a long time (they suspect b/c we've been married for over 7 years), and then I will come out and say that it's an IVF pregnancy. I'm not embarrassed by it at all, but at the same time, I don't think everyone needs to know. My mom is much more private than I am, so she is actually weird about letting family know. I don't have anything to hide, but I'm respecting her wishes.

today was the first day I was asked how old I am and if I used IVF. And .... I lied.
It just flowed out of my mouth as "Nope just lucky". I have told my friends and family but co-workers just arent in that circle.
I didnt think it would bother me but I guess I was wrong.

and to answer the OP, I'll tell anyone if its appropriate. like if someone on the street says cute baby how old, i say 7m and thats that. if im in a conversation with someone that gets into the topic of her birth (which was absolutely crazy) then i tend to talk about IVF since in my case they somewhat went hand in hand. but i have absolutely no shame, and i actually LIKE sharing my story, i find it therapeutic.

I tell everyone even strangers. It's amazing how many people you will meet that either went through it themselves if has friends/family that did.

I work in a place where 3 other girls got preg before me even though I started if treatments way before. When clients now hear I am pregnant they joke that something must be in thje water lol and lately I have been sharing that for some its in the water but for me it tool a lot of meds and tears. And then peple start sharing rtheir or their friends stories of if. I am not ashamed. If anything I am proud of what I went through! Xo

Only dh and I know of our struggles with IF. Not ashamed of using Art but I am private. I just think I have so many wounds I just want to heal with this miracle. I just tell people the truth. Baby is a miracle and unexpected All true

only my mom and sister knew I was seeing an RE, everyone else we won't be telling we conceived through IF treatments. I think the only other person that may know is DH's cousin, and that is because she was mentioning she has PCOS and i let her know I was seeing a doc in case she ever wanted to see him when she is ready to try.

I love it when others say me too and then we talk about it. I can't wait to tell him the story of what it took to get him here and the 4 doctors, numerous failures, transfers and meds it took for him to get to us. He is a blessing and true miracle for us.

Yes, I do. I openly talk about what it took for us to be blessed with our miracle. I hope that my story could be the inspiration for someone else going through infertility. I wish I had heard more real-life stories when
I was on my journey but it's amazing how many people admit that they also dealt with infertility when you come forward.
I am going to tell our baby exactly how much we longed for her. My DH gave me a card for Christmas from our DD that said "Thank you Mommy for never giving up on me"

Obviously I'm not yet a success story, but I have been very open about my path and I will be open about the alternative path we are taking to bring our baby into the world, once he/she/they is/are here!
