Adoption through DSS
Hi all, This is my first time on this board after many years in the infertility board.
After a really long break from "trying", I am growing interested in possibly adopting a child that is in the care of the county/state.
I have contacted DSS Suffolk County and explained that I am not interested in foster care, but rather adoption. I understand the child will have to be "freed for adoption". I have a background in SW and speak DSS, child services, etc.
What I am really interested in is has anyone gone the DSS route before as your adoption agency and if so, how did it turn out?
Thanks and many good wishes to all on here.
