It depends on what it is. If it's something that I can save by making it into something else (Like overcooked potatoes into mashed potatoes), then I try to salvage it. If I can't though, then I toss it, but I feel guilty throwing it away.

Throw it out or feed it to the dog if its something to dog can/will eat which is usually anything.
