how much does your newborn eat?
and how many weeks are they?
ds is 1 week old. He'll eat 2 ounces, sometimes 2.5 the past day or so. We try to cut him off, but it's sort of impossible and we don't want to not feed him either. He eats every 3 hours.
I think i might have a chunky monkey on my hands.
just curious what others are eating?

Don't cut him off. Newborns and infants will stop eating when they're full--they don't eat for pleasure like we do.
I don't think 2 ounces in a feeding is strange for a 1 week old. He may be going through a growth spurt.

My lo is 11 weeks now. She eats 3 1/2 ounces every 3-4 hours.
When she was a week old she was eating 2 ounces every 3-4 hours.

Re: how much does your newborn eat?
When my son came home, he was eating 1.5 oz at a time, every 3 hours. He was 7 wks old, but -4wks adjusted. He stayed on that amount for at least 4 weeks after coming home. He is now 4.5 months, about 17 weeks actual, 6 weeks adjusted. I make him 4 ounce bottles, sometimes he drinks 4 ounces, sometimes 2, sometimes 3. I let him call the shots. And he lets me know when he is done - Pushes the bottle right out of his mouth. He gains steadily, about 1/2 pound a week. But he was a preemie, so maybe none of that applies.

Oh i know, but sometimes he spits up so not sure if we're overfeeding him or not.
